California has a large untapped hardwood resource and an important wine industry. We are exploring the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of the most important California oaks for cooperage applications.

Currently considered: Tanoak, Blue Oak, Valley Oak, Black Oak, Coast Live Oak, and Canyon Live Oak.
